Thor Odinson was called The Golden Prince for several reasons. Perhaps the most obvious was his colouring; his blonde hair and golden complexion lent themselves to the title quite easily. But he was also the Crown Prince of the Realm Eternal, also called the Golden Realm, and that, too, was obvious.
There were some who called him the Golden Prince because they thought that he behaved the way he should "as good as gold," so the saying went. Those people had not seen the young prince when he was with his friends. Loki might be called the trickster, but Thor was able to give as good as he got, for the most part. And when he and Loki teamed up, it was even worse for whoever was on the receiving end of one of their tricks.
Today, though, Loki was training with the Lady Frigga in the magical arts. Thor was spending his day in the stables, learning how to properly saddle and care for the creatures. It was true that there would almost always be someone to take care of the horses here, in the Realm Eternal, but if Thor was in a battle, he needed to be able to handle the creatures on his own.
Sif was supposed to be joining him later, as well, and he was quite looking forward to her arrival. The young woman and Loki were two of his favourite people, and any time spent with them was time well spent.
Perhaps, after they had learned how to saddle the creatures, they could ride their horses outside the city, away from prying eyes and ears so that they could just have a bit of fun. He hoped she liked that idea; it had been too long since they'd been able to just have fun together; there were so many lessons, for each of them, that they'd been too busy for a little while.
In the meantime, though, he brushed his horse, actually enjoying the work. He had to make sure that his horse was thoroughly brushed before saddling her; he didn't want to risk injuring her, after all.
