- Read all the Rules and Information.
Please make sure you've read all the rules and posted information before posting in the shoutbox. Odds are, if you have a question to ask, it has probably been answered somewhere in the rules already. It's best to just give them a quick read before asking for staff help. - Keep language at PG-13.
We want to make sure everyone is comfortable on the forum, so we request that everyone refrains from cursing on the forums and in the shoutbox. If you're not sure about a word or phrase, feel free to contact an admin through a private message to ask for confirmation. - No advertisement of other RPs.
Do not post in the shoutbox about other roleplaying forums. This is considered poaching and will result in a warning for approved members and an immediate ban for guests and applying members. This is just beyond rude. If you want to share another forum with a roleplayer, do it over PM, not in the shoutbox. - Common courtesy.
We'd like to think this one is obvious. Be polite, both to moderators and other members. There's no reason to be negative about people or to start any arguments. Don't ignore people in the shoutbox, let people talk and have their fun. People are going to have their own opinions, and we expect you to be allowed to express them! Just be courteous and kind to one another. - No back-seat moderating.
This has been a problem for a couple of our admins in the past on previous forums. Please do not act as a moderator under any circumstances. This involves sending messages to people about breaking any rules, or answering guest questions in the shoutbox. While we know you probably mean well, we prefer these things are left to our staff! If you see someone breaking a rule, we'd much prefer if you bring it privately to our attention. - No spamming.
Pretty simple; don't spam the shoutbox with repeated comments, unnecessary comments, or just nonsense. - Keep the news out of the shoutbox.
In order to keep the forum a safe place for everyone, we ask that you keep from posting about the news in the shoutbox. We're not talking 'there was a kitten in a tree' news, obviously. We mean anything that has to do with global events. Recent examples would be Syrian refugees and the Paris attacks. We're not saying you can't talk about these things, but we'd rather you make a thread to talk about it on the OOC board. As long as you are respectful and not attacking others, these discussions are perfectly fine. Just keep it out of the shoutbox. - No controversy, no politics, no religion.
Keeping with the news, just a few more things to keep out of the shoutbox. Politics stays strictly to the OOC boards, and will be heavily moderated to make sure that no one starts anything. These threads or posts may be deleted if the staff finds them to be inappropriate for the forum. Religion is the same. We're not saying don't wish everyone a Merry Christmas or Happy Kwanzaa or the like in the shoutbox. Just don't go quoting scripture at people, that sort of thing. - No roleplaying in the shoutbox.
This may seem a little funny, considering we're a roleplay forum, but the fact of the matter is that the shoutbox is purely for OOC interactions. Keep the roleplay to the boards.
