Name: Thor Odinson
Alias: God of thunder, Thunderer, Thunder-bearer, the Golden Prince of Asgard
Age: Unknown.
Species: Asgardian
Alignment: Hero
Face Claim: Chris Hemsworth
History / Bio:
Odin Allfather wanted an heir that would surpass the strength of most of the other Asgardians. To that end, he conceived a child with Gaea, also known as Jord, the Elder Goddess embodiment of the Earth itself. Gaea had no interest in raising a child, and so, Thor was raised in Asgard by his father Odin and his adoptive mother Frigga. His foster brother Loki and a young girl called Sif were the boy’s constant companions, and the three of them were the best of friends.
From a very young age, Thor was told that he would be the next King of Asgard, and he was trained to be a warrior. He took to his lessons eagerly, and it was discovered that he was a natural in battle. And while the auspices of battle were not his only areas of study, Thor excelled in lessons in combat, often showing off in front of his friends.
Throughout the years, Thor trained alongside some of Asgard's finest warriors, and he was quite pleased when Sif joined in the lessons. He had always been fond of her company, and he grew to greatly cherish her presence, and she quickly became one of his favourite people. Though he had strong feelings for her, Thor did not want to broach the subject, because he couldn’t bear the thought of losing one of his best friends.
His other closest friend was his foster brother Loki, who was known as the Trickster throughout Asgard. Thor often bore the brunt of Loki's tricks, but despite all of that, they remained close friends. They would often compete against each other, to see who could win whatever competition they’d engaged in on that day. Over the years, however, Thor’s pride had grown, until Odin decided that he needed to learn some humility, at which point he was banished to Midgard.
Stripped of his power, Thor had to learn how to function as a lowly Midgardian. He was the might Thor! It was humiliating for him to be brought so low. Eventually, he began to appreciate humans in a way few other Asgardians did. They were frail and short-lived, but they were tenacious. They fought for what they believed in. And he felt humbled to be in their presence. It was at that point that he vowed, if he ever became worthy of reclaiming his power, that he would protect Midgard.
When Odin saw that his son had learned to appreciate his power, he restored Thor to his full strength. Thor had always been powerful, even as a child, and his time among the Midgardians had shown him what it was to need others.
After Thor's power had been restored, while he was still in Midgard, Loki started causing trouble that was more than just mischievous. Thor helped to form the group known as The Avengers to put a stop to the Trickster’s schemes. Iron Man, Ant-Man, the Wasp, the Hulk, and Thor defeated Loki, but the Hulk decided that he didn’t want to stay with them and left.
Thor and the other Avengers went after the Hulk, to try to convince him to come back. While they were looking for him, they came across Captain America, alive and frozen in the ice. They took him with them to Avengers Mansion, and once he was thawed out, offered him a place on the team.
The Asgardian considered returning to Asgard, but with all the new villains that have been emerging on Midgard, he has decided that he will stay in the Middle Realm a bit longer, to help the Avengers protect those that have no means of protecting themselves. Asgard has many warriors, and Earth, only a few. He feels that he's needed more in Midgard, and though he misses the Golden Realm, his place right now is on Earth.
Strengths / Abilities / Powers:
Weaknesses:
Miscellaneous: Thor greatly prefers lattes to coffee.
Sample:
There was something about being here, on Midgard, where he felt he was greatly needed. Midgardians were fragile, they needed to be protected. But at the same time, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of homesickness. As much as he might enjoy Midgard, Asgard was still his home. And he missed the Realm Eternal, the palace his childhood home, the place he had run and played with Sif....with Loki.
Loki. Now, there was a name that cut him to the quick every time he heard it. He loved the boy with whom he’d been raised dearly, but Loki had caused much harm to others he cared about, to this world he cared about. And yet, he knew that he would be hard-pressed to allow anyone to hurt him. After all, Thor still remembered their more carefree days, sparring, laughing, playing pranks upon their elders.
And there was the time that Loki had snuck into Sif’s room and cut off all of her hair, which might have been one of his more daring tricks, truth be told.
Sif. The hardened expression on Thor’s face softened, as it generally did, when he thought of the warrior goddess. Now, there was a formidable foe, if ever he’d met one. If one got onto Sif’s bad side, so much the worse for whoever had her ire directed their way. It was part of why he cared for her so; her temper was fit to match his and he had yet to see her back down from a fight.
His musings about his comrades was cut short when his communication device started to emit a buzzing sound, indicating that the Avengers were needed. Thor put on his helmet, pulled Mjolnir from his belt, and twirled the hammer rapidly, using it to propel himself back to the Mansion.
It was time to go to work.

Strengths / Abilities / Powers:
- Asgardian/Elder God Physiology: Because his father is Odin All-Father and his mother is an Elder God, Thor’s strength and stamina is far above that of most other Asgardians. He is physically the strongest of Asgardians, and he is capable of withstanding powerful energy blasts, falls from great heights, explosions, and weighted impacts. As an Asgardian, Thor possesses superhuman strength, speed, and stamina, as well as a regenerative healing factor, which allows him to heal much quicker than average. He’s also able to fight for extended periods of time without tiring.
- Weather Control: Thor is the god of Thunder, and as such his lightning powers are generated from his being. Mjolnir allows him greater control of this, as well as helping to direct the blasts. Additionally, he is able to summon rain without the use of Mjolnir. While he is capable of influencing the weather on a plant-wide scale, he tends not to because of the damage it would cause.
- Mjolnir: This hammer was made for battle. It was forged in the heart of a dying star, and only those who are worthy may wield it. It is capable of crushing multiple enemies in one blow, as well as simply bashing in a single enemy's skull, depending on the whim of the wielder. Thor is able to use Mjolnir to fly. To do this, he spins it as fast as he can and hurls it in the direction that he wishes to go. Additionally, his armour is connected to it; with the aid of Mjolnir, he is able to summon it to him and clothe himself in it even as he is charging into battle.
- Allspeak: Because of the gift of Allspeak, Thor is able to communicate in all the languages of the Nine Realms, including those of Midgard.
- Intelligent: Thor is an intelligent being. He understands much of the technology of his home of Asgard, and he has been learning how to use that of Midgard, as well. Thor is capable of using his intellect in battle to form a plan of attack, and modify it if necessary.
- Indomitable Will: Thor’s force of will is such that he has even defied Odin Allfather, when he has felt that it is the right course of action. He practically refuses to back down from a fight, and he is willing to give his life to protect others.
- Expert Combatant: Ever since he was young, Thor has been trained to be a master combatant. He is capable in hand-to-hand combat, aerial combat, wrestling, swordsmanship, as well as throwing Mjolnir with accuracy. He has also mastered a variety of fighting styles from both Earth and Asgard.
- Skilled Tactician: He is capable of leading forces into battle, even when faced with potentially overwhelming forces and odds, utilizing strategies and tactics to defeat his enemies. Thor has been trained in combat tactics, and is capable of using them to great effect.
- Prince of Asgard: As Crown Prince of Asgard, Thor has been raised to be able to give speeches in public. Additionally, he has highly influential connections and diplomatic immunity.
Weaknesses:
- Family: Thor cares about his family very much. He will do just about anything for them; it would not be difficult to use those he cares about against him. This is especially true with those he has chosen as family, as well.
- Warrior’s Madness: Rather akin to the rage of the berserkers, the Warrior’s Madness is also known as the Sin Unpardonable. Despite the fact that the Madness allows one who succumbs to it to increase their strength and stamina tenfold, it threatens the bearer’s sanity. Additionally, it can cause massive headaches, savage and uncontrollable behaviour, and causes the person in its control to become unreasonable and animalistic.
- Mystical Weakness: Though he is extremely durable, Thor tends to be vulnerable to magic. Additionally, he is also vulnerable to cosmic beings like Galactus, the Beyonder, etc. Thor is incredibly physically strong, but he can be physically injured by the strongest of beings, those on the level of Sentry, Thanos, and the Silver Surfer.
- Temper: As much as he tries to keep a handle on it, Thor has a rather volatile temper. It has gotten him into trouble in the past, and if someone is able to push just the right buttons, it can get him into trouble in the future. Additionally, if he lets his temper get the better of him too much, it can lead to the Warrior’s Madness, which is something he tries to avoid at all costs.
- Midgardians: Thor has a soft spot for Midgardians. He has declared himself Midgard’s protector, and he continues to try to keep the people safe. Considering they’re much more fragile than Asgardians, it’s much easier to threaten them.
- Loyalty: The Golden Prince of Asgard is loyal almost to a fault. He has pledged his allegiance to the Avengers, and to Midgard, and he will do everything he can to uphold those alliances, even if it means putting himself in danger.
Miscellaneous: Thor greatly prefers lattes to coffee.
